Silk was originally discovered in Asia and till date China remains the largest manufacturers and exporters of silk bedding, garments and accessories reaching millions worldwide everyday. All of our lush silk essential is made by our long-standing and well trusted production partners in China. They work with our design requirements to ensure that every item is made to order and according to quality standards.

3. There are so many different silk types and grades out there, how do I differentiate the real from fake ones?

As with most commodity items, fakes are a possibility. However, real silk is distinctive because it has a supple feel and soft glow rather than an overwhelming shimmer, like satin. Silk is made using the rare threads of a mulberry silk cocoon under a rigorous production process and that is why real silk could come off as pricey. Lower quality silk, imitation silk and satin are much cheaper but they do not offer the same beauty benefits and allure of real silk. SILKEDGED™ pillowcases are certified by OEKO-TEX® and we use the highest Grade 6A, 22 momme silk. We settled at 22momme because 22 is, let’s say, the sweet spot👌; 19momme and lower is typically flimsy while mommes higher than 22 can feel less breathable and comfortable.

We are currently offering the standard, queen and king sizes. Some colors are NOT available in all 3 sizes – queen size is the most ordered size and a queen pillowcase can also fit any regular S/Q pillow. Keep an eye out in the announcements for inventory updates. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept custom orders for now.
